How does ECHO Operate?Project ECHO, Inc., provides emergency shelter to homeless men, women, and children in our community. Since this nonprofit agency opened its doors in 1992, it has offered a safe, drug and alcohol free environment, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In 2011 alone, the ECHO House provided over 12,500 bed nights and over 18,000 warm meals to those we serve. With the help of 23 Ministries and Civic Organizations providing 365 hot meals every year, we are truly blessed not only to provide shelter to those in need but feed the hungry too!
About the 5K "Strut Your Stuffing" Turkey Trot
November 22, 2012, Run/Walk begins at 7:00 a.m.
Project ECHO announces the 1 Annual 5K “Strut Your Stuffing” Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day! We are proud to partner with The Arc of Southern Maryland for the event! Early registration is encouraged to ensure a race-day shirt. However, late registration will begin at 6:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving and the race will begin at 7:00 a.m. for the runners and 7:15 for the walkers. Add your own fun to the event by running in Thanksgiving Day costumes! All we need are a few turkeys being chased by Pilgrims! What a great way to contribute to the less fortunate and a better way to show “thanks” on Thanksgiving! Consider it a pre-meal workout too and give thanks by helping the homeless!
The Turkey Trot will launch and end at The Arc of Southern Maryland’s Community Resource Center at 355 West Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick. We are anticipating the event end promptly at 9:00 a.m..
Please contact Trisha Gipson for registration information, 410-535-0044 or trishgipson@projectecho.net! As always, thank you for your support of the homeless shelter in Calvert County!
